The Journey – Spiti Valley Motorcycle tour
Spiti valley raid pretty much has the same route as of the Raid de Himalaya i.e why Spiti Valley Motorcycle Tour is the ideal tour for adventure motorcyclists. This trip will start from the New Delhi airport and riders will be transferred to the Manali on first day. This is a complete circuit which ends at Manali and riders will again be transferred to the Delhi international airport. During this trip, you’ll visit some old very old Monasteries, ride across three high altitude mountain passes, visit some of the highest villages and a beautiful Lake lies deep in Himalayas, Chandratal or The Moon Lake.
There are only two routes which connects Spiti valley to the rest of the world. One is from Manali side and another from Shimla side. Distance between Manali to Kaza is approx 200 kms. and Shimla to Kaza is approx 400 kms. Manali side route get closed in winters but Shimla side route remains open during winter as well. Spiti Valley Tour Itinerary
Here is 9 days detailed itinerary for this guided tour package.
Day 1: New Delhi to Manali
This is the day we pick you up from New Delhi airport and will bring you to the Manali by air or by road as per availability. Manali has lots of places to explore. So if you enough energy and have spare time you can explore the near by places otherwise just relax at the luxury hotel.
Day 2: Manali to Jibhi
The journey will start from the Manali after breakfast. Today our stay will be at Banjar area. There are many places to stay in the Banjar like Jibhi & Tirthan Valley. It is place near to The Great Himalayan National Park. You may go for short treks or may rest in the woods or spend some quality time at the bank of a river. So as per your choice we are flexible to customize the itinerary. Tirthan valley is also famous for trout fishing or angling.
Day 3: Jibhi to Kalpa
It is a long ride today and also have to cross a pass. This is a short but Steep mountain pass named as Jalori. Its altitude is approx 10000 feet. The route will join the main Shimla Kaza highway. After a few miles you may also turn to the Sangla valley and upto the last village towards china border. But you require to add one extra day in your itinerary for this.
Day 4: Kalpa
Today is a rest day. It is best to explore the near by places in the Kalpa. You may go for short walk or hike. May go for monastery visit or village visit to see the village life of Himalayan peoples. You could just relax at the terrace of the hotel staring at the snowy mountain peaks. Or just rest inside your luxury room. Its your day and your choice.
Day 5: Kalpa to Tabo
Today we will leave behind the green Himalaya and will enter into the High Himalayas with very less plantation or just the bare rocky mountains. This region comes under rainfall shadow zone. Today we give a visit to the Giu village before reaching to the Tabo. Giu is very scenic village and here you may give a visit to the Mummy of a monk. As you will reach Tabo after a long journey your best option is just get fresh, take the dinner and go to sleep.
Day 6: Tabo to Kaza
Now Kaza the capital of Spiti valley is not far from here. In the morning first we will visit to the old Tabo monastery and old Himalayan caves which were used by people to live in the past. After that our next stop will be at Dhankar monastery which is situated at a scenic cliff. You may also go for a 20 minutes trek for the Holy lake of Dhankar.
Day 7: Kaza – Hikkim – Kaza
Today we will spend our day to explore the nearby places and also visit to the Highest post office of the world situated in Hikkim village, Which is also known as the highest habitat village. Villages near Kaza are very scenic and you may find out how the people are living in this harsh terrain.
Day 8: Kaza to Manali
This day will be the most exciting day of the journey as the route we going to be an adventurous route where we will cross the two passes today Kunzum pass and Rohtang Pass. It is going to be a long ride day. So we will start early in the morning. On the way we also visit to the mesmerizing Chandertaal lake or also known as Moon Lake. Kunzum pass is a 4550 meters high pass which connects Spiti valley to Lahaul Valley. Then the next pass Rohtang Pass having an altitude of 4000 meters connects the Lahaul Valley to the Kullu Valley. After 8 days we will be again in Manali today. So after a tiring journey just take your dinner and go to the bed.
Day 9: Manali to New Delhi
You may extend your stay at Manali as their are many things to explore in the Manali. Or just get back to the New Delhi. Your return bus to New Delhi will be in the evening. And if you have booked flight then it will be in the morning. So get ready accordingly.

- Up to 60 days or more before the tour departure; Refund 100% of the paid amount.
- Between 30 days to 59 days before the tour departure; Refund 50% of the paid amount.
- 29 days or less before the tour departure; No refunds.
